Minutes of the October 9, 2004
meeting of the Weld Amateur Radio Society
- Meeting called to order by
Rob KA0VNB.
- The minutes of the previous
meeting were approved as presented.
- Those present introduced
themselves.
- Ava
KA0RXJ presented the treasurer's report.
- Rob - Announcements.
- Next week is the Boy
Scouts Jamboree.
- The Club was invited
to help with the Boy Scouts merit badge on Jan 29 and Feb 26 2005 at Aims
Community College.
- The Radio manuals
library is currently being built.
- QST magazines that
were in the radio room are up for grabs.
- Suggested the Club
purchase the QST CD from ARRL.
- The Greeley Public
Library only has a couple of old manuals. Nothing current on amateur
radio.
- Cliff W0ITD - provided a
radio room update.
- The power rewiring is
in progress.
- Stan to provide
additional wire.
- Do we need additional
Anderson/Power Pole power panels?
- The Cat 5 cable has
been run for the IRLP setup.
- Mark AI0L - IRLP update.
- We have a static IP
address.
- We have full internet
access.
- Mark is spending most of
his free time with the Red Cross on their computer systems.
- Stan K0KZA - Provided a
repeater update. The transmitter and receive work. The controller is in
the process of being programmed.
- Rob - ARES update. There is
an exercise today. Larimer and Weld counties to hold an exercise on Oct
23, 2004.
- Cliff - reminded us that the
Club has Dick Bird's donated radio equipment.
- Nick AB0PK - requested
everyone's e-mail address. Goal is to send as many members the minutes via
e-mail. The rest will receive the minutes via US mail.
