Minutes of the September 10, 2005 meeting of the Weld Amateur Radio Society
- Meeting called to order by Rob (KA0VNB).
- The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented.
- Everyone present introduced themselves.
- Berry (N0OYM) presented the treasurer's report.
- Three new members paid their dues.
- Update on Ava by Cliff (W0ITD)
- On pain medication
- Procedure has not been performed.
- Repeater update by Stan (K0KZA)
- Replacement parts for the repeater are on order.
- Since part was only 39 cents, additional parts were ordered for a total of $5.
- Currently using the standby repeater which is working well.
- Rob provided an update on last months work party to clean up the site – good turnout.
- Up coming Ham Fests
- Sept 17 NCARC
- Sept 27 BARC Fest in Boulder
- Next years Rocky Mountain Convention will be held in Estes Park – June 9 – 11.
- Nick (AB0PK) the club secretary sent a link to the minutes on the club web page rather than a copy of the actual minutes in the e-mail minutes. A vote was taken and the majority prefer to receive a copy of the minutes rather than the link.
- A request was made for printed directions on how to use the phone patch.
- Rob indicated this can be done.
- A sheet was passed around to collect and/or update club members e-mail addresses.
- There were some questions on the club equipment bidding process.
- Members get first priority
- Non-members get second priority
- Third priority will be to sell the equipment at a Ham Fest.
- Should bids be below the minimum, item will be offered at the Ham Fest for at least the minimum value. If not sold at Ham Fest for minimum or better, then the highest club bid gets the equipment.
- Current bids will be reviewed after the meeting.
- IRPL update by Berry
- Access to reflectors is restricted.
- Experimenting with adding EchoLink.
- Sunday evening net update by Bill (KC0NJD) – average participation is 5 to 7 check-ins.
- Cliff informed the club the Eaton Boy Scouts would like a Radio demo in October.
- Tuesday – Coffee with Dick at the Garden Square – 9:00am
- Cliff is heading up the effort to put labels with club contact information on old issues of QST magazine. These will be placed in schools. Need members to volunteer to be a contact.
- Rebob (NQ0X) asked if club will do anything to help hurricane victims.
- Recommend we volunteer with the Red Cross
