Minutes of the November 11, 2006 meeting of the Weld Amateur Radio Society

• Meeting called to order by Rob KA0VNB at 9:12 am
• Minutes from last meeting approved
• Berry N0OYM provided the treasury’s report
• Berry N0OYM provided a report of the repeaters:

• New repeater is online. When it is cold, has difficulty until it warms up and then runs normally
• Did wattage test for repeaters (keyed and idle) and AC devices at site-presented results

• Rob KA0VNB indicated that the cheat sheet for the IRLP node was distributed. Asked about codes for EchoLink

• Old Business:

• Need to put mast together and take J poles (one 12 ft and one 5 ft) to Red Cross Building.
• Autumn potluck at Red Cross 11-17-06.
• Red Cross has been doing background checks on volunteers-may be doing financial and credit checks.
• Mike and Cliff will try to make 3-4 more school presentations. Plan is to teach minimal electronics, basic projects and then work on getting licenses. Call for volunteers.
• ARES did some simplex communications tests after last meeting
• It was mentioned that a link on the WARS website was not working-issue has been corrected.
• Next test session December 9, 2006  2nd sat at Farr Library, 1pm.
• NCARC Christmas party Dec 15th at Western Sizzlin at 5:30 pm.
