Minutes of the October 13, 2007 meeting of the Weld Amateur Radio Society

• Meeting called to order by Rob KA0VNB at 9:12 am
• Minutes from last meeting approved
• Berry N0OYM provided the treasury’s report
• Rob KA0VNB asked about noticed to members who have not renewed
• Berry N0OYM has updated roster and will get notices out in the next month or so
• Berry N0OYM provided a report of the repeaters:

• 440 on air- have not called Ginny about sale of repeater to club
• Contacted president of Denver Radio Club- has not heard anymore complaints regarding interference-was a “spead spur” and time, weather conditions did not make any difference to the interference
• Have not heard from Bob about new repeater control

• Old Business:

• Barc Fest was last month
• Testing session at Farr Library- 2nd Sat of month at 11 pm-would like to get more examiners from Greeley attending
• ARES Exercise last month from about 9 to 11AM- were impressed with what the club could do.
• Got call from George Weber- Steve Powell looking for demo of amateur radio on Oct 20th for leaders meeting in Loveland.
• Rob has not gotten anymore PowerPoint presentations, is hoping to get more
• Win wanted to revisit question about whether the fire department expects the club to operate from the building the meetings are held in in case of emergencies. The fire department is not expecting emergency communications at building, would be more of a demonstration point as no other emergency services would be based out of the building. Emergency communications would be more likely to be at the EOC.
• Win K8GYC –new cabinet at repeater site-not yet. Berry N0OYM made motion to get new capacitors for repeater- motion approved
• Berry N0OYM took meter reading- are averaging about $3 worth of electricity per month.
