Minutes of the February 9, 2008 meeting of the Weld Amateur Radio Society
- Meeting called to order by Rob KA0VNB at 9:10
- Berry N0OYM provided the treasury’s report
- Pending expenditures include business card stock, the warsco.org internet domain and coax cable for the repeater site.
- Reimbursement for pended expenditures approved
- Minutes from the last meeting approved
- Berry N0OYM provided a report of the repeaters:
- 2M having some difficulties, have not had opportunity to purchase parts
- IRLP and EchoLink are up and running
- 440 is down-have not had opportunity to reprogram call sigh
- Rob KA0VNB- may be good time to get the 3 port repeater controller that was approved previously- Berry will get it.
- Rob KA0VNB- CCARC looking for clubs wanting to test D-Star system. There are some clubs in Denver that may be interested.
- Rob KA0VNB- Software to find radio available to anyone interested
- Rob KA0VNB- Club did not get involved with radio merit badge for Bo Scouts
- K0OJ- Testing session today-still looking for volunteers to do testing.
- Ron KA0VNB- Training sessions coming up. Feb 23rd in Parker (ARES district 24 website for more information). NWS training May 3rd, location to be determined.
- Rob KA0VNB- Ft Collins marathon May 4th.
- Rob KA0VNB- helped get Evans’ fire department communication bus equipment. Department may lose bus, but will likely keep the radios.
- Rob KA0VNB- spent time with Denver communication to see what dispatch is like.
- Gave document for donation of Cliff’s repeater to Ted, he will have Ginny sign it when he sees her.
- Berry gave business cards to OJ to give out at testing sessions.
- Dave gave update on the activities that he and Mark have participated in.
- New Business:
- Ted WA0HLJ has lots of antennas if anyone would like to buy one- about $50 each.
