Minutes of the March 8, 2008 meeting of the Weld Amateur Radio Society

• Meeting called to order by Rob KA0VNB at 9:10
• Minutes from last meeting approved
• Berry N0OYM-Treasurers report
• Mike KC0FNE suggested getting new cable for the duplexers and having it retuned
• Stan K0KZA- better to pay repeater site annually/semi-annually. Was suggested that it would be better to continue the monthly payments to touch base with Bud Stanley and see if anything needs to be done at the site.
• Mike KC0FNE would like some of the business cards.
• Berry N0OYM provided a report of the repeaters:

• No complaints on the repeaters
• IRLP, EchoLink and 2M are up and running
• 440 is down, will keep until get controller up
• Berry N0OYM would like to buy a 100ft spool of cable and some ends for the controller set up. Motion to purchase cables and ends approved.

• Old Business:

• Rob KA0VNB- attended District 24 digital training- went very well. 58 people attended which is increase from previous year. Got pamphlet for technicians meeting 1st Saturday of each month. If interested, visit www.na0tc.org
• Rob KA0VNB- Carey Bryan NY0L is getting married in Texas.
• Ron KA0VNB- Ted WA0HLJ sent email proposing committee to inventory testing equipment that the club owns.
• Rob KA0VNB- recommended that since the club has a tower, it could become part of the packet backbone in Co. Would only need to get 70cm radio, club has rest of the equipment  needed.
• Rob KA0VNB- George Weber is looking for people interested in Scouting operations/demonstrations. Email ka0bsa@arrl.net or email grweber8@comcast.net if interested.

• March 22 (tentative) District 10 face to face at Windsor Fire House.
• May 29 –Denver Civilian Emergency Response Training

• May 4- Ft Collins marathon- looking for volunteers
• June 7- Pikes Peak Ham fest
• June 28 (3-4) days- MS 150 bike race
• August 12- Denver Radio Club Ham Fest

• Bill W0AVH- Boy Scouts store is moving to Loveland, can still order products from office in Greeley.
• Rob KA0VNB- magnet/metal tube demonstration- may be a good demonstration for kids.
